Hey! Listen!

So I am designing a logo for a friend’s website…

He specifically asked me to make it for him, because, you know, I am a digital design major. Apparently, he didn’t want me to be the designer. He just wanted me to put whatever was in his head on the computer. He is making a drinking website that deals with good deals, and he wants the logo to be a happy go lucky dollar bill holding a beer stein. He wants it to be insanely detailed and colorful.

I humored him and made it, along with a bunch of my own, simpler ideas. He blew them off and asked for more detail in his original idea. I’m sorry, but who is the designer here? I don’t know how to tell him that his idea is shit and this is what I am going to school for. I am about to tell him flat out that it is a stupid, amateur logo and if I can’t use my own brain while working on this, he can find someone else to make his stupid drunk dollar bill.
